THE INTERFAITH SOLIDARITY NETWORK BREAKS DOWN BARRIERS AND INSPIRES SOLIDARITY AMONG FAITH COMMUNITIES IN THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY

BORN IN RESISTANCE

In 2017, as the nation faced a growing wave of Islamophobia and rising hate crimes in the wake of the 2016 election, Soraya Deen and Marsha Novak organized a solidarity march in the San Fernando Valley. The strong response of 1000 marchers and growing interest led Soraya and Marsha to form The Interfaith Solidarity Network the following year. ISN is a 501(c) 3 non-profit administered by a board of directors that meets monthly.

READY TO RESPOND

In addition to scheduled events and the Solidarity March, ISN exists to respond in times of tragedy and in times of celebration. Faith communities being in relationship with one another allow us to practice interfaith cooperation, to mobilize against intolerance and to advocate for justice in housing and the environment.

INTERFAITH SOLIDARITY NETWORK EVENTS & ADVOCACY

The ISN is the foundation for our year-round work. This includes our Solidarity March, interfaith music festival, interfaith worship services, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast, workshops and educational opportunities.

We are also consistently creating new advocacy initiatives through our Housing Justice and Eco Justice Committees.

TRANSFORMING THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY

Interfaith Solidarity Network is committed to creating opportunities for individuals and communities throughout the Valley to both connect and be changed. We believe in the power of relationships to have the Valley reflect the values we hold so dearly.
